Mobile, Ala. (WALA) - UPDATE:  Fox 10 News Fugitive Files suspect Tia McGehee was arrested February 3.  She is the 504th suspect to be arrested after appearing on Fox 10 News Fugitive Files.

It just took a few hours for last week's suspect on Fox 10 News Fugitive Files to surrender.  When it comes to this week's suspect, those of you working in local motels should pay close attention.

Our suspect's name is Tia McGehee, and she's been arrested in the past for negotiating a worthless instrument. Now, Mobile Police say she's wanted for stealing checks.

Mobile Police Corporal Christopher Levy said, "She's been taking mail out of people's mailboxes. When they have been paying bills, she would remove the checks from the bills, alter them, and write them out to herself."

McGehee is 35 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. If you can find her, call the Fox 10 News Fugitive Files/Crimestoppers Hotline at 251-208-7000.

She has several active felony warrants in Mobile and faces the possibility of federal charges once she is arrested.

Police say she's been stealing and altering checks all over the city of Mobile. Her last known address is Farnell Drive in Mobile, but police say she's not there. They know she has been staying in local motels and moving every few days. If you know where she's staying now, or if you've seen her, call our hotline and stop her from possibly stealing a check from your mailbox.
