Mission Statement
The corporation was formed to provide a means for the prevention
of cruelty to animals within Baldwin County; to assist with the
enforcement of lawful means with the arrest, conviction and
punishment of all persons violating such laws, and alleviate the
over-population of dogs and cats within Baldwin County; to promote
the adoption of homeless cats and dogs to good homes; and to help
alleviate cruelty to and suffering of animals wherever such may
occur.
Overview
We rescue, rehabiliate, and re-home hundreds of abused,
abandoned and neglected pets.
We do not have a shelter of our own.
Alabama State law mandates that counties and municipalities
with populations of over 5000 provide animal shelters and animal
control services, paid by our tax dollars. The Baldwin County
Humane Society works cooperatively with them to place the shelter
animals in loving new homes, thus minimizing the tragic necessity
of euthanasia due to overcrowded conditions. As a matter of fact,
most of the pet photos in our Photo Galleries are pets available
for adoption through a local shelter! We encourage you to visit our
shelters often, not only to adopt a new pet, but just to visit the
animals and show them you care. You may be surprised, and find the
perfect feline or canine companion just waiting to become a part of
your family!
Our Funding
BARC! doesn't get any government funding and relies soley on the generosity of donors to help the homeless, abused and inured animals.
