MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The defendants have started arriving at the federal courthouse in Montgomery for the retrial in Alabama's gambling corruption case.

Casino lobbyist Tom Coker was the first to arrive Monday morning. He was followed by casino owner Milton McGregor, former Sen. Jim Preuitt, and casino spokesman Jay Walker. Also on trial are Sen. Harri Anne Smith and former Sen. Larry Means.

Jury selection for the retrial starts at 9 a.m. Lawyers predict it will take four or five days. Jury selection took four days during the first trial. That trial ended in August with two acquittals, no convictions, and the jury unable to decide some charges.

The six remaining defendants face conspiracy and bribery charges accusing them of buying and selling votes for pro-gambling legislation.
