The cooler weather makes for good fishing in freshwater too. Chief Meteorologist Jason Smith takes us bass fishing on this week's Fox Ten Outdoors.
Fall is a beautiful time of year on the Mobile Tensaw Delta. The white pelicans gather in big flocks. Ducks are migrating south. And, alligators are staying close to the bank and soaking up the sun. It’s also a great time of year to target bass.
I recently headed out with local tournament angler Logan Marston to do a little pre-fishing before the City Championship. We started out pitching spinner baits against the grass. This time of year, the north winds blow the water out of the shallow bays. The fish begin to transition to the creeks and bayous. These chunky bass are feeding on shrimp. They love a small spinner bait with gold blades. Logan and I caught bass after bass, boating 25 fish in our short morning trip.
