Early November can be a good time of year to be out on the water. We take you bass fishing this time on outdoors.
Logan Marston invited me out on the Causeway to target something a little different. Our goal was to find some bass in preparation for an upcoming tournament.
Logan is a member of the University of South Alabama fishing team. He also competes in other local tournaments.
We started out pitching spinnerbaits in a protected bayou.
The brackish waters in this area hold bass and bream, as well as inshore saltwater species like trout and redfish. Local bass clubs compete on these waters in tournaments like the recent city championship.
As we eased up the creek, we saw a pair of bald eagles nesting in the distance.
You can come up in the bayous and bays and creeks and throw spinnerbaits. You aren’t far away from saltwater, but it’s fresh enough for bass. And you can catch good numbers of fish, too.
