GULF COAST - One effective technique for catching redfish is to use the same methods used in bass fishing. You can take a trolling motor and quietly ease along the shorelines and banks, casting artificial lures.

I like to use a spinner bait with a ¼ oz lead head. The reason why a spinner bait works so well is because of the flash it produces. It also creates a vibration when it comes through the water.

You will also catch trout and flounder using this method. You can fish with the spinner bait of just use a straight grub and ¼ oz lead head combo.
