MOBILE, Ala. - This is a classic episode of Fox Ten outdoors from January 2008.

The weather has been terrible lately and the fishing has been very challenging. Fresh water has pushed most of the fish out of the Delta, but here is a technique that can be used in the deeper areas of the lower bays now that water temperatures are recovering.

You can drift with the wind and use curly tail or paddle tail grubs on a 3/8 oz. lead head. This "dead drift" technique is most effective when you set the rod in a rod holder and let the lure drift with the boat. Trout bite softly in the colder weather and suspend near the bottom in 15-20 feet of water.
