Our local bays are vast waterways that extend for miles. Public reefs in areas like Mobile Bay create habitat for fish and other species. These areas are good fishing spots too!

The Coastal Conservation Association has teamed up with the Marine Resources Division to help create the new Bayou Cour Reef. This will be one of the largest reefs in our area.

It is strategically located between the Fish River and Shellbank reefs. The site is located over an existing oyster bed near Bon Secour.

The goal is to help enhance both, fishing and oyster production in this area.

A recent gift to CCA from shell oil is helping to make this project a reality. The goal is to have the $163,000 project completed by next year.
