Squirrel hunting in Marengo County

GULF COAST (WALA) - Jason Smith goes squirrel hunting in Marengo County this time on Outdoors. Walter Tutt invited the crew up for a traditional shoot along with some young hunters from our area.

Having a dog is key for a successful hunt. These special squirrel dogs work ahead of the hunters and pick up the scent.

Squirrel hunting is a good way to introduce kids to hunting. Squirrel hunting is a lot of action, and you get to do quite a bit of shooting. You can really work with kids on their gun safety during this time.
