On my recent trout fishing trip with Captain Andrew Carter, we caught plenty of fish early on artificial.
The bite slowed as the morning progressed, and it was time to switch gears. We headed out into the open water and focused on small points with live bait. It didn’t take long to find another hot bite!
Shrimp rigged about three feet under a popping cork was the ticket. I caught another nice keeper on the very next cast.
The slicks on the water were a good indication that trout were feeding heavily in the area. Captain Andrew also caught a few fish on a pink sparkle beetle rig.
The inshore bite will just get better and better with these early fall cool fronts. Look for more great outdoors action each Thursday on FOX10 News. And, remember to check the new episodes of Outdoors with Jason Smith each weekend this fall on WALA and WFNA
