GULF COAST, Ala. - What I'm going to do is come back up here in this little bayou and it leads to a pond. Never been to it before, and I just always keep my eyes moving, looking for something irregular. If you looking for red fish, they'll come floating up, or maybe a tail or a wake or a push, anything that give the fish away.

You've got to turn off of these fish real quick. There's a whole slew in there. It's definitely what we were up today, when came to do this now, sight fish for these reds. A good start. Good start on some sight fishing right.

Spinner bait and it uses a Hildebrandt arm with a three and half blade. This bait right here is pretty typical of what you would use most of the time for these reds. It's a number four arm with a three and a half blade. A no slack quarter ounce head on a four hook and a little purple and chartreuse colored.

It's just like a big old beetle spin if you're a freshwater fisherman and a lot of time, I just use braid, but this just straight fourteen pound test. These reds aren't real big, so, braid give you a big advantage but it causes problems with back lashing and wind knots and different things, so, there's a give and take. I like to use braid on spinning rods, but, casting rods, I'm still kind of sold on the monofilament.
