Alabama's Crimson Tide: 2012 year in review

(WALA Sports) - Alabama (12-1) will meet Notre Dame (12-0) for the BCS National Championship Monday night in Miami's beautiful Sun Life Stadium.

But it didn't always look as if the Tide would get their shot in the big game.

On November 10, Heisman Trophy winner Johnny "Football" Manziel and his Texas A & M Aggies took down Bama 29-24 in Bryant-Denny Stadium.  The loss seemed at the time to ruin Bama's chance for back-to-back championships.

But key losses from national contenders Oregon and Kansas State helped paved the way for the Tide to play in the game, as Alabama is searching for its 15th national championship.
