Bama's BJ Scott replaces Jag Jake Johnson in Sr. Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - South Alabama safety BJ Scott joked with his former Alabama teammates just hours after getting in town before Saturday's Senior Bowl.  Scott is replacing fellow Jag Jake Johnson on the South team roster.

 Johnson injured his achilles Wednesday.

 Scott, Robert Lester and Nico Johnson were all smiles after being reunited, but even Wednesday Scott had no idea he'd be lacing them with his boys one last time.

 "It feels like a dream, to be honest," Scott said. Yesterday, I'm just sitting in my room just bored after working out, and I decided to get in the car and go ride around- just to waste a little time. Before I hit one block up the street, Phil Savage called me and let me know there was a slot open. And I wanted to jump on that opportunity."

 Scott played his high school ball at Vigor.  Head coach Kerry Stevenson joined him Thursday at the hotel.

 Scott transferred from the Tide in 2011 and was top three on South's defense in tackles and interceptions.

 He's excited to run out of that familiar tunnel again.

 "That's what you hope to see coming from a game like this, being someone from the city," Scott said.  "It's going to be a great feeling. So as long as I go out there and do my thing, do my part on the field. I'm just looking to make the best of this opportunity to show the scouts what I have."

 Scott expressed his excitement to return to Mobile on his Twitter Wednesday:

 It still hasn't sunk in that Scott has been asked to the nation's premier college football showcase.

 "Coming all the way back to your city for your last game of your college career, it's sending chills through my body," Scott said.  "It's a great feeling." 

It's likewise for the people of Mobile who have watched Scott grow up right before their eyes.
