MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - At the University of South Alabama's spring game, mental errors by both sides eventually led to the Red team's downfall.

The Blue team overtook the Red team in a 17-10 win with quarterback C.J. Bennett looking to lead the Jags into another winning season.

Bennett passed for 128 yards, completing 11 of 14 passes with one interception for the Blue team. He connected with receiver J.J. Keels for a 35-yard completion. Keels had 52 yards for the game.

Running back Demetre Baker played well from the wings, he ran for 22 yards with one touchdown.

Receiver Anthony Ingram fumbled a 67-yard catch in the end zone, an error that resulted in a touchback for the Blue team. That  mental error was contrasted by the Blue team, which allowed running back Julien Valentin to break a number of tackles and run for a 45-yard rushing touchdown.

But overall, Jags head coach Joey Jones said he was pleased with the teams' effort on the field Saturday, and their work so far this spring.

"Our evaluations through the first few practices was really what it was all about," he said. "We kind of know where we are."
