TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WALA) - They are the spirit of Alabama football. The Crimson Tide cheerleaders are at every game, entertaining thousands of fans from the sidelines.
For them, football is more than a game.
“We don't just play football here, we live it,” said senior Ryan Martin.
The Alabama cheerleading squad has a sideline view at every game, but Martin says cheering at a national championship game is on another level.
“Don’t get me wrong, cheering in Bryant-Denny is awesome.110,000 fans are great. But there is nothing like knowing you are going for a national title,” said Martin.
Martin should know...she is one of the squad’s seniors preparing to cheer in her third championship game.
“I think we are seriously the luckiest group of cheerleaders in the world,” said Martin.
Their first was cheering against Texas in 2009, then again, in 2011, against LSU.
“It was just an honor to be there…after losing that year. It just felt great to be able to show them who’s boss,” said Martin.
This year, the seniors are traveling to Miami, for their last Alabama game. Sarah Coggins will be one of the girls, flying high during her swansong.

“It’s unbelievable. It's something that is just…it's almost like I can't even explain it. I don't think I’m going to realize how lucky I really am until I’m done,” said Coggins.
The Crimson Squad loves to win just as much as the football team they cheer for. The team was the College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Champions in 2011. Coggin said she was motivated by the champions on the field.
"It's a completely different feeling. It is one thing to be cheering for your team. They are getting that title for themselves. But it's another thing to actually put in all the work and you're doing the routine and you’re doing all the skills and stuff and you know that you won that yourself,” said Coggins.
So, as the squad gets ready to close the season, winning will be on their mind….and so will the memories.
"I think I’m just going take in every moment off it and try not think about it being my last game until the very end,” said Coggins.
