IRVINGTON, Ala. - The Ronnie Cottrell era at Alma Bryant High School is over. Fox10 has learned the hurricanes have fired Coach Cottrell after just his second season.

Cottrell, a former Alabama Assistant Coach, went 4-6 his first year and 3-7 this year. That's a combined record of 7 wins and 13 losses. Despite the losing record, some praised the job Cottrell was doing.

Last year, a school record 16 of his players went on to play football in college.

FOX10 has also heard the Hurricanes have lined up a current high school coach in the Mobile area as Cottrell's replacement. However, because nothing is official we're not reporting any names at this time.
