SPANISH FORT, Alabama (WALA) - September 3's Game of the Week is a marquee 5A matchup: St. Paul's at Spanish Fort.

In seven games, the Spanish fort Toros have yet to lose at their home on the hill.

"No one beats us on the hill!"

They're not bragging. It's just that Toros Stadium truly is a fort their opponents have yet to conquer. But St. Paul's have surprised the Toros before.

"Last year we didn't come prepared. This year, we're practicing hard. Don't want to lose to them... not to them," said Toro wide receiver Billy Harris.

"We were very, very luck to win last year at our place. We get to go over to their place and experience that for the first time with this young group we have," St. Paul's head coach Jimmy Perry said.

With nine starters that are sophomores or younger, the Saints are young, but they're good, too. Led by quarterback Jacob Coker, a Florida State commit, St. Paul's has scored 100 points in their first two games.

"Jacob Coker has come on and really become a force at 6'5", 225 pounds. We've gone to more of a pro-style offense and distribute the ball around a little bit more," added Coach Perry.

The Saints are marching, but make no mistake, the third ranked Toros are the favorites and are eager to avenge last year's loss.

"Our goal is to play for the region championship. This game puts us or them in the driver's seat," Spanish Fort head coach Bryant Vincent added.
