Foley football star commits to Alabama

FOLEY, Ala. (WALA) - At 6’4”, 310 pounds, Darius Paige is the biggest body you’ll find on the Alabama all-star roster.

A certain school in Tuscaloosa has taken notice of the Foley football star; Paige is a verbal commitment to Bama.

“The coaches they go straight forward with me, they don’t sugarcoat anything," Paige said.  "When I first stepped out there, just the vibe I got, I just fell in love with it.”

You may think head coach Nick Saban would have a recruit of Paige’s caliber watching Tide games with a pen and paper.

That's not the case.

“I just sit on the couch with dip and hot wings and watch the game," Paige said.

Paige brings that carefree attitude to the field and the sidelines. His personality is infectious, and his teammates and coaches have taken notice.

“Football is all about having fun, and being around people who love to play the game," Paige said.

He'll have the chance to have that fun at the Game on Saturday in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
