Last week, I showed you some of the fine trout I caught throwing top waters early in the morning. As the day progressed, the fish were interested in a slightly different presentation.
A soft plastic under a cork can still draw strikes when the sun angle is higher. The sound calls the fish to the bait. I like to pop the cork hard every few seconds, working it slowly back towards the boat. I continued to get some results from my popping cork technique. I caught and released an undersized red on my second drift through the spot. This was a sign of things to come… I caught a really fine redfish to end the day!
