MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - University of South Alabama junior Xavier Roberson will be out for the rest of the 2011-12 season with a foot injury, men's basketball head coach Ronnie Arrow announced Friday.
Roberson, a Houston, Texas native, sustained a broken left foot during Thursday’s game against North Texas.
That same foot caused him to miss five games in December. He returned Dec. 31 at Middle Tennessee and scored six points in 20 minutes of action. He had 10 points and a season-high five assists Thursday night before leaving the game with four minutes left in overtime.
“He’s our best outside shooter and one of the toughest all-around guards that we have,” said Arrow. “He’ll be missed. What it does is give other kids on our team an opportunity to get more minutes and help us win games. Wendell and Dallas, while he was out last month, gave us some good minutes and they have to continue to do that and get better.”
The Jaguars host Denver Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
