MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - In addition to the players heading to Alabama, Auburn, and South Alabama, there are plenty of students heading to other big name division one schools.

UMS Wright is sending two players to college ball. Linebacker Jay Prosch has signed to play with Illinois in the Big Ten. He chose the Fighting Illini over Northern Illinois and may end up playing at fullback.

"I wasn't looking forward to going to Illinois, but I got over there and had a great college feel," said Prosch.

His teammate tight end Sidney Jordan signed with Samford in Birmingham.

Davidson High sends safety Chris Hughes to Mississippi State. The Warrior will play safety or outside linebacker in Starkville.

At Vigor, star offensive lineman Quinterrius Eatmon signed with the University of South Florida. The 6'7, 330 pounder said he wanted to reward the Bulls for continuing to recruit him when he had heart-related problems earlier in the season.

"It means a lot to me, but it probably means more to my mom to see me go to college and everything," said Eatmon. "I'm probably the only male in my family to make it to college."

Daphne offensive lineman David Fowler will head to Southern Mississippi, as will Fairhope star running back Jamal Woodyard. Both inked with the Golden Eagles.

Woodyard was on a torrid pace last season with 19 touchdowns, well over 1,000 yards through five games. But an ankle injury cut his season short.

Woodyard said he's excited to play with the Golden Eagles.

"It feels good. Everything I've been working on for the past three years is finally about to pay off. I'm excited for next year."
