DECATUR, Ala. (WALA) - Oakland Raiders linebacker and former Alabama All-American Rolando McClain has been convicted on four charges related to a December assault in Decatur . He was sentenced to 180 days in jail.

McClain was found guilty of reckless endangerment, menacing, third-degree assault and firing a gun in city limits. He was also fined $2,000.

Harvey Steinberg, McClain's attorney, immediately filed an appeal. McClain’s case will now go to circuit court and be heard by a jury, essentially starting the process over.

Police say McClain was involved in a fight back in December and that he put a gun next to another man’s ear and fired it.
