MIAMI (WALA) - Saturday, January 5, Alabama linebacker and Theodore native C.J. Mosley's parents made the drive to Miami for the BCS National Championship game against Notre Dame.

After the nearly 10 hour drive and sitting in traffic for a few hours, Mosley’s mother Tracy said she is happy to be in South Florida.

"It's like a family reunion. We're so excited to be here and we have both his grandmothers here, so he's excited to see us all come together," Mosley said.

C.J.’s extended family made the trip from Illinois to see him play in this year's title game. They said being able to gather together as a family and cheer for C.J. has brings their family closer.

“It's just a joyful occasion. Every time we get together it's a party. I love my family, my family loves us, they support us one thousand percent, I couldn't ask for a better family anywhere in the world,” said C.J.’s father, Clinton Mosley Sr.

The Mosleys are ready to beat the competition. First, though, they're going to enjoy a little bit of paradise.

While in Miami, the group plans on touring the city taking in the sights and scenes like the palm trees, beaches and shops.

Then on Monday, the Mosleys said it's time to focus. The family said they always pray over C.J. before the game and his grandmother said she wants every player to leave the game with no injuries.

Of course, they want Bama to bring home a win.
