NEW ORLEANS (WALA) - New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns against the NFL’s worst pass defense, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-8).

The 41-0 victory marked the first shutout by the Saints in 17 years. The previous shutout came against the Jets in 1995, a 12-0 season finale rout.

Brees completed passes to David Thomas, Darren Sproles, Lance Moore and Joe Morgan, with Mark Ingram contributing an 11-yd Touchdown rush.

Ingram, a former Alabama running back, finished with a total of 90 yards on the ground, the Saints’ third best this season.

The Saints (6-8) endured three consecutive losses, putting their playoff berth in jeopardy.

Before Sunday, Brees appeared to be in a slump.

He threw a total of 9 interceptions during the skid ending his record touchdown streak in a 23-13 loss to Atlanta on November 30.

The Saints will face the Cowboys in week 16 next Sunday.
