MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Year Two for Coach Joey Jones and the Jags. This year, South Alabama was looking to fill their needs, rather than field an entire team. Case in point, the Jags signed seven Offensive Lineman and eight Defensive Backs.
South’s highest rated recruit is Quarterback C.J. Bennett. He’s a 3-star player out of Florida. He also had offers from Wyoming and Navy. Bennett threw 29 touchdowns his senior year.
Davin Hawkins, a Safety from Atalla, Alabama was also highly sought after. He originally committed to Kentucky and also had offers from Southern Miss and UAB.
