Spring football games at Bama, Auburn

TUSCALOOSA/AUBURN, Ala. (WALA) - Auburn and Alabama kicked off their spring football games today. Both teams got underway at 2 p.m.

A-Day got off to a special start for the Tigers and their fans. New statues were unveiled Saturday morning of the school's three Heisman Trophy winners, Bo Jackson, Pat Sullivan, and Cam Newton.

In Tuscaloosa, Mobile's A.J. McCarron and the first team offense square off against Bama's tough starting defensive squad.

McCarron actually threw an interception on his first passing attempt, the first play from scrimmage.

A committee of running backs, including Daphne's T.J. Yeldon, is carrying the load for the Tide.  Yeldon switched his commitment from Auburn to Bama, adding some bad blood to an already bitter rivalry.

We'll bring you highlights and reaction from both games on FOX10 News at 9 p.m.
