Senior Bowl tailgating: fun before the football

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - SENIOR BOWL TAILGATING

"Senior Bowl woohooo!!!" some fans shouted.

It's the hottest ticket in town. So hot even the camera gets steamed up. Over the years, tailgating at the Senior Bowl has became as much of an event as the game itself.

Tailgater Tony Tomasich told us, "I think this is just as good as the Senior Bowl itself, but I look forward to the game."

DEDICATION NEEDED

Tailgating at the Senior Bowl is a competitive sport in itself. Snagging the right spot takes some dedication.

"We got out here 6:30 this morning, they let us in," Tanner Medley said. "We got some prime real estate and now were just having a great time enjoying all the festivities."

Once you're in that prime spot it's time to cook... and cook some more. Then eat all that great stuff you've been cooking. And of course you also must shout the obligatory Roll Tides when a TV camera rolls up.

Of course, there are fans from other schools tailgating as well. We got shouts of Go Gators! War Eagle! and Go Noles! aimed at our camera.

All the fun and excitement this year has been aided by Mother Nature. No jackets needed here. Tailgater Dale Burgess was loving it. He told us, "The weather's beautiful. We couldn't have asked for anything better than this."

That's Mobile putting its best foot forward for this year's Senior Bowl.
