MIAMI (WALA) - The women of the Crimson Tide are representing their team at Sun Life Stadium.

Decked out in Bama gear, the ladies of the "Houndstooth Hunks and Honeys" have set up their tailgate party and were playing the Alabama fight song while cooking and mingling.

"I love Alabama. It's a tradition. It's my favorite hobby. It's what I do. Houndstooth is my favorite color," said Jane Cole.

Cole is from Tuscaloosa and traveled to Miami to watch the championship game.

"We buy the purse. We buy the shoes. We buy the hats and the pins. We represent the best way we can," she added.

The Medlock family, one a Fighting Irish fan the other an Alabama fan, enjoyed the festivities together. They both want to bring home a W, but for Jamie Medlock’s team. It’s been a long time coming. Notre Dame hasn’t won a championship since 1988.

“I was really little at the last national championship game. I was 6, so I still have a little bit of memory of my parents going crazy the last time they won.” said Jamie Medlock

For the reigning champs, it was just three hundred and one year ago.

“We’ve been looking forward to this all year long, counting down to it,” said Bryan Medlock.

Some Alabama fans said each game is different, but this one is special

“It’s number 15. The first team to repeat in the BCS Era if we win tonight, so that is big. Coach Saban will have three out of the last four years; that is big,” said Ron Allums.

Fans said this game, hopefully this win, is for one of Alabama’s legends.
