MIAMI (WALA) - Alabama and Notre Dame Fans started flocking to South Florida Thursday.

The streets aren’t filled with red and green yet with fans sporting their collegiate gear but in the heart of Miami and along South Beach, fans from both Alabama and Notre Dame are taking it easy a few days before the big game.

“We’re just hanging out, working out, about to get a jog in and eating some food,” said Alabama fan Marttise hill.

Hill lives in Indiana but has family in Alabama and said he’s all about the SEC. He said he respects Notre Dame and the program and even likes some of the football players but he said this year, he is cheering for Alabama.

”I don’t think Notre Dame has a chance. Alabama is the class of the SEC and the SEC is the standard of college football,” said Hill.

He plans on watching the game from his television instead of inside the stadium and he isn’t alone.

Anne-Margaret Swary lives in Miami and said her husband wants to go to the game but they’ve decided to save the cash and watch it on their couch. She said this game has been a long time coming for Notre Dame who lost to Alabama in the last game they played 25 years ago.

“For many years watching football was a little stressful in our house.  My husband yelled at the TV a lot so this year was so exciting watching them week after week just continue to come back and be the team we know that they could be,” said Swary.

Other Notre Dame fans, however, are going to try their luck

“I was told by a friend at home if you don’t mind going in late, you can get a ticket at fairly reasonable prices and they’re calling for rain so I’m praying it rains really hard and the fair weather fans give up their tickets,” said Mike Summers.

Last time he checked, Summers said he heard tickets were going for $1,400 dollars.
