Get your home and your life ready for fall! From the kitchen to the bedroom, Chief Organization Officer Ginny Snook Scott can help you tackle the transition from summer to autumn.
According to a recent survey, 83% of people want their home to be more organized, and almost half of women say that disorganization makes them stressed and frustrated. Now that the fall season is here, it’s the perfect time to give your closet, and your life, a makeover. So how do you clear the clutter?
Getting organized can save at least 30 minutes a day, maximize space and help you de-stress. Scott says there is an art and science of organization that can help you prioritize your life as well as your things. She says if you make the most of your space, big or small, that will help you spend less time in the closet and give you time to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine before winter hits.
Ginny says as you’re rotating your seasonal wardrobe, try something new this year. Dress your closet the opposite you would dress yourself with shirts on the bottom and pants on the top. You will be able to better distinguish your pants and give your closet a little more breathing room.
It may also help if you get your shoes and winter boots off the ground. Use closet shelves to avoid losing your shoes to the bottom of your closet.
If you're getting ready to entertain this holiday season, press your linens including tablecloths, placemats, napkins, and hang by pant hangers instead of in a drawer.
While on a cleaning spree, consider putting your canned food on its side in a drawer so not to build up a food museum in the back of your kitchen cabinets.
