Home Building 101: The Floor Plan

In the second installment of "Home Building 101", Studio10's Joe Emer and builder Bryan Robertson with Roe Robertson Construction take a look at designing a floor plan with a custom builder.

One of the neat things about working with a custom builder is you can design your own house.  Also, if needed, changes can be made along the way.

After years of economic recession, many Gulf Coast realtors believe the housing market is showing signs of improvement.  They say now is a great time to buy or build.

With that in mind... Since 1998, Studio10 co-host Joe Emer has lived in 6 different cities and 14 different rental properties.  For some that may not be a lot of moving around, but Joe and his family decided it's time to find a house. After weighing many different options, they decided to build a custom home with a local builder.  

Bryan Robertson and his father Roe Robertson are the owners of Roe Robertson Construction.  Building homes and working on Gulf Coast construction projects has been their family business for several decades. Most of their business is word of mouth.  Joe heard about Roe Robertson Construction through his realtor Elaine Sessions with Roberts Brothers Inc.  

Joe thought it would be fun and informative to take our viewers along for the ride as his new house is built. Bryan Robertson will join Joe as they take us through several different segments showing the steps toward becoming a new custom home owner.
