MOBILE, Ala. - The Halo video game franchise has its biggest release ever! The new "Halo Four" is a huge hit with gamers.
In the first 24 hours of its release, the game racked up more than $220 million in sales. Think about it this way: Last Tuesday's opening beat the record for the biggest one-day opening in U.S. box office history, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2."
"Halo 4" was developed for Microsoft's X-Box 360.
If you want to give two gifts for one this holiday season, there's a website dedicated to donating parts of it's proceeds to help others. It's a graphic t-shirt site called Sevenly.com , and each week they sponsor a different charity.
Seven dollars from each sale goes toward the charity for that particular week. The sales from this week help to provide a life saving service dog to children with disabilities like autism, epilepsy, and down syndrome.
You can read more about this week's charity at sevenly.com , and check them out each week to see who they're helping.
The company, "Research in Motion" (RIM) says the long-delayed Blackberry 10 platform will be introduced to the world on January 30th.
This new line of smartphones is powered by a new operating system, and the future of the company could be determined based on it's success, especially since it's existing lineup lost ground to smartphones like the Apple iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy line.
The introduction event on January 30th will take place in several countries at the same time. Along with the whole Blackberry 10 platform, we'll get to see the first two Blackberry 10 smartphones. Save the date!
