MOBILE, Ala. - Facebook is generating a lot buzz with a mysterious press event set for today. The social media giant has invited the news media to its headquarters to quote "Come and see what we're building."

The company is apparently ripping a page out of Steve Jobs' hype machine owner's manual. There's no shortage of theories on what Facebook will announce.

Much of the speculation is latching onto the long-rumored Facebook smartphone or tablet. But CEO Mark Zuckerberg told a magazine in September a phone is "clearly" the wrong strategy for Facebook.

The Polaroid, has a new strategy of it's own.  It's back with a high-tech twist. The Polaroid has evolved into taking 10 megapixel images that can be saved directly to an SD card.

They still deliver that instant gratification by printing out pictures. Only now, pictures print out already dry and ready to use.

New software is putting the latest technology inside car dashboards, like a curved touch screen that displays tweets and emails,  and a web app that lets drivers lock doors or check the gas tank from their smartphone. Ford plans to expand dashboard technology.

Lastly, Google says expect a better, faster search experience. It's updating after it's been found they did not violate anti-trust laws.

That' s your Daily Tech.
