MOBILE, Ala. - If you've had a pre-paid plan with AT&T, you could be entitled to a reimbursement. According to the FED's, AT&T made a huge mistake, and it's going to cost the company well over half a million dollars.
AT&T is accused of charging smart-phone users to pay for extra's without having the proper consent.
The FED's say back in 2009, AT&T started requiring new smart-phone customers to pay for monthly data plans, but they were not supposed to switch over those customers who already had pre-paid plans.
Some of those customers say they were mistakenly moved to monthly plans, and it cost them an extra $25 to $30 dollars each month.
AT&T has now agreed to pay a penalty of $700,000 dollars to the U.S. government so that refunds can be offered to those customers.
