Sending your loved one roses is often a first thought when thinking of Valentine's Day and your special someone. Lenae Denson with Cleveland the Florist has a few tips before you buy.
Lenae says one of the big questions she gets is the difference in price between short stem and long stem roses. The stems of a long stem rose are about 70 cm, and there are often only a few on a rose bush. That's why a dozen long stem roses can cost up to $80, while short stem roses can be around $20.

Some ways to keep your roses fresh if the florist doesn't include the food packet is to use aspirin or some sprite. Lenae Says you can mix 1/3 Sprite to 2/3 water.
