10th Annual Mystic Mutts of Revelry Parade

The Haven

Published : Wednesday, 30 Jan 2013, 12:58 PM CST

On February 2, 2013 the 10th Annual Mystic Mutts of Revelry Parade will be held at 3:30pm. More than 300 dogs and their human companions are expected to wind thru the streets of downtown Fairhope. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for The Haven, so that the organization may be able to continue helping homeless and abused animals in their care.

The no-kill animal shelter was the first to bring this trend of masked humans with their pets to the Eastern Shore, and it’s growing every year.  If you and your pets would like to walk in the parade, your pets must be registered. Registration will be held the day of the event from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the hospitality tent at Fairhope’s Community Park, on the corner of Morphy and S. Church Streets.

The registration fee is $25 for one pet and two human companions. It is $5 for each additional animal from the same household and each additional human companion.  All children ages 12 and younger can walk in the parade for free with a registered adult.

You can make a bid if you would like your dogs to be entered for the chance to be in the royal court. The female dog with the highest bid will win the honor of being the Queen of the 2013 MMOR parade, and male dog with the highest bid will win the honor of being the King of the 2013 MMOR parade. Each runner up will be crowned Princess and Prince.

Bids start at $100, and you can place a bid by mailing a completed bid form to:
MMOR Bid
P. O. Box 284
Montrose, AL 36559
You may also hand deliver a bid form in a sealed envelope marked "MMOR Bid" to The Haven at:
559 S. Section St., Fairhope
All bids are due by Friday, January 25 at 2:00pm.

For bid forms and more information please contact mysticmutts@bellsouth.net , call 251-929-3980 or visit www.havenforanimals.org .

The Haven rescues, re-habilitates, and re-homes more than 900 animals each year, and has been serving Baldwin County since 2000. The non-profit animal shelter is responsible for leading the four municipal animal control shelters into creating a no-kill society for companion pets, caring for more than 70 homeless cats and dogs at the shelter on any given day, and finding loving homes for these homeless, injured, neglected and abused and abandoned animals.  All animals are vaccinated, evaluated both behaviorally and medically, fed, watered and marketed until they find their forever home.
