The Blues Tavern is hosting the 1st Annual Blues and Grooves Fest on Sunday, September 16, 2012 starting at 12 p.m.
It's a musical celebration to help raise awareness and funds for the Down Syndrome Society of Mobile County and their annual Buddy Walk that will be held October 20, 2012 at The Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile.
The Buddy Walk is one of 250 walks across the country happening in October, which is Down Syndrome Awareness Month. The purpose of the walk is to raise awareness and promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome and positively influence our community.

The Down Syndrome Society of Mobile County is a non-profit organization composed of parents volunteers who are committed to improving the lives of individuals with Down syndrome in Mobile and surrounding areas. The mission of The Down Syndrome Society of Mobile County is to provide enrichment through education, emotional support, advocacy and networking opportunities. They are dedicated to raising awareness, educating the community and enhancing the lives of children who have been diagnosed with Down Syndrome by facilitating programs that can help them achieve their highest potential.
