Baldwin EMC

Baldwin EMC will hold its seventh annual Power of Giving blood drive and health fair on Thursday, November 15 at the cooperative’s training center on Highway 59 in Summerdale. Members of the community are invited to donate blood, drop off non-perishable food items for charity, and take advantage of a variety of health and wellness services.

The blood drive starts at 8:00am and this year’s theme will be Iron Bowl. Representatives from LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will be on hand to accept blood donations. Show your team spirit and give blood for your team.

Anyone interested in donating blood should be in generally good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and should be at least 17 years old. Donors must not have given blood anywhere else within 8 weeks prior to the drive, and as always, first time donors are welcome. If you have a chronic condition such as high blood pressure or diabetes, you may still be able to donate as long as you are being treated and the condition is under control. Please remember to have a valid form of photo identification.

This year’s Power of Giving drive will also include a health fair. Visitors are welcome to take advantage of a variety of pre-diagnostic health and wellness screenings performed by medical professionals. All services are provided free of charge.

Baldwin EMC will also be collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to Catholic Social Services of Baldwin County. Food donations will be distributed to families in need throughout the community.

In addition, Baldwin EMC will be collecting dry and canned pet food for dogs and cats. They will also be collecting cat litter. These donations will go to the Baldwin County Humane Society.

The drive is scheduled to wrap up at 5:00 p.m. For more information call (251) 989-6247 or visit http://www.baldwinemc.com/index.cfm .
