You know those really amazing stunt planes you see at air shows? The planes that flip, fly upside down, and do all sorts of other neat tricks? You’ll get to see one of them at the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show this weekend! It’s an Extra 300L aerobatic aircraft, and the very talented pilot is Lieutenant Colonel John Klatt with the Air National Guard. Lieutenant Colonel Klatt promised to take me on a ride I would never forget!
“Okay, are you ready to go upside down?” said LTC Klatt.

So, upside down we went! And it turns out, I really like flying upside down, so we decided to do it a few more times. We also did some barrel rolls and four point vertical rolls, we made some loops, and even pulled 6G’s! What an amazing experience! You don’t want to miss seeing this spectacular performance up close this weekend at the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show!

Lieutenant Colonel John Klatt has served in the Air National Guard for more than 20 years, flying combat, air support, and humanitarian missions throughout the world in the F-16 “Fighting Falcon” and the C-130 “Hercules” aircraft. He is recognized as one of the top aerobatic pilots in the world.

The Air National Guard offers training in more than 200 exciting career fields, including well-paying, high technology jobs. The training you receive can be an important step in achieving the career that’s right for you. The Air Guard can also help students pay for college education.

Members of the Air National Guard serve from their local community, so they’re able to attend college or work full-time while they serve. Members of the Air National Guard also receive a regular monthly paycheck, shopping privileges at military bases, free air travel-and more.
