Cocktails with Critters

Cocktails with Critters, the major fundraiser for the Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation, will be Thursday, May 3, from 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm at Tacky Jacks on the Causeway.

This will be an exciting evening overlooking Mobile Bay and enjoying the lively inspired sounds of the Modern Eldorados.   For those seeking more thrills, there will be a fantastic silent auction.  Tacky Jacks is pulling out all the stops and will be serving fabulous and tasty hors d’oeuvres and wine and beer.

The Modern Eldorados
Founded by Tyron "Gretsch" Lyles in 1996, The Modern Eldorados’ uncompromising sound and take no prisoners stage presence doesn't follow trends, but stays true to the roots of Americana, while infusing it with individual swagger. Blending rockabilly with traditional country music, the band pays tribute to the essence of Ray Price, Webb Pierce, Hank Williams and Carl Perkins with authentic American honky tonk.....that's The Modern Eldorados.

Stig will be on hand to add color to his limited edition prints designed especially for Cocktails with Critters.

Silent Auction
The silent auction will have many exciting and unique items ranging from original artwork to guided fishing trips in the Gulf to a fabulous vacation properties.  A detailed list will be included with the invitation.

Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation
The Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation (DISLF) supports the Sea Lab in its mission to provide wise stewardship of the marine environment through education and research. The Foundation provides funds to sustain the activities and promote awareness of the Sea Lab and its environmental issues and also funds the George Crozier Endowment.

The Sea Lab is the marine laboratory for the State of Alabama. It serves all twenty-one institutions of higher learning as well as hosting programs from k5-12th grade. The educational component is an important facet but the excellent, nationally acclaimed research aspect has been highlighted in the wake of the Deep Water Horizon oil spill disaster.
