HandsOn South Alabama is expanding its volunteer recruitment and management services into Baldwin County. HandsOn South Alabama will host its first volunteer engagement, "Get HandsOn Baldwin County" on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Daphne Civic Center. Nonprofits, community agencies and faith-based organizations that utilize volunteers in Baldwin County will be there to talk about volunteer opportunities.
This event will help build awareness about existing needs in the community and will help HandsOn South Alabama introduce itself to the residents of Baldwin County. This expansion has been made possible through a grant from the Community Foundation of South Alabama and the Fund for Gulf Communities, a program of the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors.
The event is open to the public and admission is free. The event is a 21+ event. HandsOn South Alabama will be able to register interested volunteers and will provide information about its programs and services.
HandsOn South Alabama is expanding into Baldwin County as part of its long-term strategic plan to address unmet needs through local volunteering. The Get HandsOn Baldwin County event will be their first special event directly connecting local community volunteers with the nonprofit partners they serve in Baldwin County.
