New York Times best-selling author Jen Lancaster is in town to sign and discuss her newest novel, "Here I Go Again". On Wednesday, January 30, 2013, the author will be at The Venue in Fairhope from 12:00-1:00p.m. Tickets are $15 and include lunch and $5 off the purchase of Here I Go Again.
Jen has been writing since 2002, and since 2006, she has sold more than one million books. She shares details from her colorful life in a series of hilarious memoirs like "Bitter is the New Black" and "Such a Pretty Fat". Two years ago, Lancaster wrote her first fiction novel, "If You Were Here", which made the New York Times bestseller list.
Jen calls Here I Go Again a book that is a mix between Mean Girls and Back to the Future. The plot is based around Lissy Ryder. Twenty years after graduation, she has the perfect job, the perfect husband, and the perfect attidute. But everything crumbles just before her high school reunion, and she quickly learns that "perfect" isn’t always what it seems. The once "most popular girl in high school" discovers things have changed and karma eventually catches up with everyone.
Lissy gets the chance for a high school do-over. The result is a sharp, funny, and touching story about first love, family relationships, and the far-reaching consequences of the way we act in the cafeteria.
