A Pensacola based publisher is getting ready to release its second 2011 publication. Aqueous Books is proud to present "The Other Shore" written by critically-acclaimed Israeli editor Fred Sholnik.

The setting for the book is Israel in the 1980s. The book highlights a time when Israel was between the Lebanese War and the outbreak of the first Intifada. This was a very important time in Israel, because that was when Israel began its transition from a Zionist-socialist society to a Western-style consumer society. The novel follows the lives of the characters during this change and focuses on two families.

The author, Fred Sholnik, was born in New York City but has lived in Israel since 1963. He has mainly worked as an editor and translator. He is best known from his work as editor-in-chief of the award winning, 22-volume, second edition of the Encyclopaedia Judaica. "The Other Shore" is his first published novel.

The publisher, Aqueous Books, is a Florida-based publisher that was founded in January, 2010. The company publishes fiction and memoirs, and has a special interest in literary fiction and magical realism. For more on Aqueous Books, visit: http://www.aqueousbooks.com .
