World renowned local artist Nall created this year’s featured artwork for Polo at the Point. The artwork will be part of the Silent Auction during Polo at the Point on Sunday, October 21. Nall will also have a tent at the event where his work will be available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds from his sales that day will benefit
Polo at the Point and this year’s main beneficiaries.
Nall was born in Troy, attended the University of Alabama and graduated with a degree in art, political science, and psychology. At the age of 24, Nall was awarded top score entrance at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He excelled among his contemporaries and was mentored by Salvador Dali who advised him to “Draw from life, draw, again and again.”
Throughout his career, Nall has received many accolades and had his work displayed throughout the United States and around the world. He has created commissioned works for the National Arts Club in New York, Cathedral of Saint-Paul de Vence, His Serene Highness Prince Albert of Monaco, The Tuscany Council for Culture, Puccini Festival Foundation, Miami Dade College in Miami, Pisa International Airport in Italy, St. Francis Basilica in Italy, and St. Augustine Museum. In 2000 Nall was the curator for Alabama Art, an exhibit of 13 Alabama artists. He put together the book, Alabama Art, which was published that year.
Nall started two foundations, The N.A.L.L Art Association in Vence, France and the Nall Foundation in Fairhope, which award scholarships and give student apprentices the opportunity to work with him in France and Alabama. For more information on Nall, please visit www.nallart.com .
