Batter up! The Mobile BayBears Charities is unveiling a new and exciting way to give back during the Friday, September 7th play-off game against the Montgomery Biscuits. You could be one of the first to hear the “Crow’s Nest for a Cause” bell ring, signaling the start of a new tradition for the Mobile BayBears!
How "Crow's Nest for a Cause" Will Work
Throughout the entire game, a team of people from the benefitting organization (in this case, Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama) will be stationed in the Crow’s Nest platform – located at the top of the stadium seats, just in front of the press box. During the game, the crowd will be encouraged to come to the Crow’s Nest and make a donation. Each time a donation is made, a bucket will be dropped from the Crow’s Nest. The donation can be put inside, then the bucket is raised back up, and the person in the Crow’s Nest will ring a bell for all to hear!
Every time the bell rings, it means a difference is being made in our community! The more it rings throughout the game, the better! America’s favorite pastime, will now have an even greater purpose.
Crow’s Nest for a Cause will be available for all charitable organizations to utilize in the future.
Salvation Army Appreciation Night
In addition to kicking off “Crow’s Nest for a Cause” fundraising, The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama has been invited for an entire night of activities including:
*Major Mark Brown, Area Commander, will throw out the first pitch and lead the stadium in prayer before the game.
*Residents in The Salvation Army’s Children’s & Women’s Center will be invited to the game and recognized.
*The Salvation Army will have a booth on the concourse to meet and greet the crowd, sharing information about all of our programs.
*The Salvation Army will have our traditional Red Kettles set up at the exits. This is the first appearance of the Red Kettles in 2012!
