Smokin' in the Square BBQ Cookoff

Get ready for some smokin' good barbecue at the 2nd Annual Smokin' in the Square BBQ Cookoff.

The event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.  It takes place in Seville Square in Downtown Pensacola.   You have two days to get yourself some fantastic food. The event starts today (Friday, March 4th) and ends tomorrow (Saturday, March 5).

The event is an officially sanctioned Kansas City Barbecue Society event which means the food is guaranteed to be good!  Proceeds from the event will go through the Knights of Columbus to a number of area charities.

Friday Schedule:
6 a.m.- Teams and vendors check in
9 a.m.-Meat inspections for teams
11 a.m.-Vendors begin sales
3 p.m.-Team meetings
4 p.m.-Opening ceremony and entertainment begins
6:30 p.m.-Seafood Competition turn-in
11 p.m.-close down for the day
 

Saturday Schedule:
7 a.m.-Continental Breakfast for cooks and judges
9 a.m.-Judges check in
10 a.m.-Vendor and food sales begin, entertainment begins
4 p.m.-Awards ceremony
9 p.m.-Entertainment ends
