Spend Mother's Day on Dauphin Island

Mother’s Day weekend is just around the corner and Dauphin Island has big plans in store for the special day.

Friends and family are invited to visit Dauphin Island’s Mother's Day weekend for the annual Art in the Park and Nature Festivals. Set underneath the live oak trees of Cadillac Square, May 12 & 13 from 9am to 4pm, this is sure to be a weekend for the family to remember.

Art in the Park is a juried art show featuring artists from throughout the Gulf Coast. The festival will showcase the best of art from original paintings and prints, shell art, jewelry, photography, stained glass, and many more wonderful artworks. There will be live music, food vendors and children's activities.

The Nature Festival activities are scheduled to coincide with Art in the Park, and will also be located under the live oaks of Cadillac Square. Festival activities will include nature walks, wildlife and raptor exhibitions, children’s activities, as well as specialty kayak lessons, marsh tours, birding and history boat tours. A simple $20 registration fee will give guests access to the specialty tours and activities.

Cadillac Square, the home site of M. de la Mothe de Cadillac beginning in 1713 when he was appointed as Governor of the Louisiana Territory.

Dauphin Island’s Mother’s Day weekend events are sponsored by the Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce and the South Mobile County Tourism Development Authority, with marketing funds made possible from the Town of Dauphin Island and BP.
