Tim Tebow Coming to University of Mobile

The University of Mobile will bring NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow to Mobile for the 8th annual University of Mobile Leadership Banquet.

“A Conversation with Tim Tebow” will be held April 18, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. at the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center in downtown Mobile. Sponsorships are available and tickets are on sale now at www.umobile.edu/banquet2013 , or call the university at 251.442.2917.

The annual University of Mobile Leadership Banquet raises financial support for the school’s annual academic scholarship fund. Tebow’s appearance marks the eighth Leadership Banquet which brings a speaker of national prominence to the Mobile area who uses his or her influence to open doors of opportunity for the next generation of leaders.

Previous speakers have included former President George W. Bush, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich, former Georgia Gov. and retired U.S. Sen. Zell Miller, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Sponsorships and premium tickets are available and range in price, including various benefits such as a private reception and photo opportunity with Tebow.  See www.umobile.edu/banquet2013 for all the options. A limited number of bleacher seating is available at $75 for two or $50 for one.

Tim Tebow's collegiate career as a Gator at the University of Florida culminated in two national championships and his being honored as the first sophomore recipient of the Heisman Trophy.

A first round selection in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos, Tebow burst onto the national stage as he led the franchise to the 2011 NFL Playoffs for the first time in six years. Now he is suiting up with the New York Jets. Tebow is a fierce competitor with a strong work ethic, and is a leader his teammates trust and respect.

Even more than his impressive athletic skills, it is his integrity and character that have won him legions of fans. Tebow lives a life that consistently reflects his values, and he is dedicated to helping people and communities in need.

In 2010, he founded The Tim Tebow Foundation, which is partnering with CURE International to build hospitals in the Philippines. In addition to Tebow CURE Hospitals, the foundation also grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses and is building playrooms in hospitals and orphanages, among other far-reaching charitable works.

While Tebow sees football as a platform for greater good, it's clear that the public's fascination with him spreads far beyond the gridiron. He has over 1.8 million Facebook subscribers and 1.5 million Twitter followers, and his New York Times bestselling memoir, “Through My Eyes,” was named the No. 1 Sports Book of 2011. Tim was also named one of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2012.

In an industry where many are celebrated only for their performance on the field, Tim Tebow is an example of how much can be accomplished by living your values and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
