It is time to Stuff the Bus once again. It's the Wave Transit's sixth year of collecting gifts for an agency in Mobile and they will benefit the Dumas Wesley Community Center.
The Dumas Wesley Community Center, located in Crichton, serves over 6,000 people in direct services each year. To date, they have served over 350 homeless families. Clientele served directly by Dumas Wesley is approximately 69 percent low income, and 90 percent minority. Since the Youth-At-Risk program began in 1970, Dumas Wesley has served over 250,000 children.
In addition to children, Dumas Wesley serves seniors providing them with nutritious meals and transportation services.
Please drop off your new, unwrapped gifts for children from 0 to 17 years old on Saturday, December 1, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Wave Transit bus waiting to be stuffed will be located at the midtown Wal-Mart located on the I-65 Service Rd. and Emogene Street.
