How Exercise Affects Weight Loss

Eastern Shore Weight Loss

If you’ve been working out and eating fewer calories but your extra pounds won’t budge, you're probably wondering why. It has to do with the amount of calories you take in and how many calories go out.

Dr. Snellgrove from Eastern Shore Weight Loss says getting the right amount of exercise is key. Food splurges may undo your hard work. Dr. Snellgrove says many people who diet like to take a “cheat” day once a week. He says that can really put a dent in the time you spent at the gym.

Remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so the numbers on the scale may not show that you're losing weight because that fat is being turned into muscle. You're toning your body so while you may weigh the same, you’ll be able to see and feel a difference in the way your clothes fit.
